The Bard is Back...

Just a quick update. The Narnian Bard, who finally returned (not sure thats a good thing...), should have sent you a similar message just recently.

State of the Region
Historically, our region has held its own as a moderately sized region with a population between 50-80. Our current status has us in this range, but on the low end of it. Recruitment efforts to bolster our population towards the higher end of our range will be under way soon. Please check out the Internal Affairs section of the forum is you wish to help in this effort. It is our hope to remain in this population range for the near future. This size is ideal, as it is large enough to have a significant impact on the Nationstates world, yet also small enough for a close-knit and easily manageable community.

The Imperial Army
Our Imperial Army has become active again in the last few months and has participated in numerous missions. The Imperial Army, and our status as one of the most influential regions of the Founderless Regions Alliance, is the way we can make our largest impact on the world. The success, honor and glory of the Imperial Army would greatly be increased with more members. Please contact new spartzerina for more information, or apply for the IA on the forums (citizenship required). This is such a great opportunity to participate in the region, you will not want to pass it up!

The Forum
The forum is the center of activity in the region. Registration is easy and free. We have some new threads set aside for discussion on "real life" topics, such as sports, current events, movies and even the weather. There are also a plethora of games for your enjoyment. August Updates

Greetings fellow citizens and friends of Narnia!

As many of you know, we experienced a setback in our region not too long ago. A former member of our region deleted much of our forum and wrecked havoc in the area. I’m happy to report that we are not a fully re-forged and re-energized region! Thank you to all who sympathized, partied (and it was a good party, wasn’t it?), and generally illustrated the friendly side of NationStates.

There have been some major changes, so let’s bring you up to steam:
In the High Council--
Fotar, who long served as our leader, has stepped aside to perform the duties of IA Marshall.
Spartzerina is now King, having proven himself faithful and invaluable in various HC roles, the last of which was IA Marshall.
Cocodian will continue as Lord Protector.
Arisora, a newer and energetic member of the High Council, is serving as Internal Affairs officer and general moderator of RP.
Delfar Appalachia, instead of serving as Speaker of the High Council, now holds the position of WA Delegate.
Kekova, another long-term member, is serving as our Foreign Affairs leader.

As for the forums:
(What? You haven’t been there? Then you really should come visit!)
A new forum has given us several opportunities to restructure ourselves and put some new ideas in motion. If you visit now, you’ll most likely notice a few changes.
The North Gate – where you should come and register yourself as member, ambassador, or friend of the Council of Narnia
The City of Cair Paravel – the location of our Party Tent; the City Square for general discussion; general discussion in the Wood Between the Worlds; and the Jesters’ Room where you can play games and gain spam points
The World of Narnia (dedicated to the late Mount Helena) – our roleplay center where you should come can build a character to go on adventures both internally and abroad.
Paravel Council – NEW! We now have a University of Paravel currently accepting applications for future leaders of Narnia. Also, this is where the Delegate’s Office is located. I generally try to post each resolution/act up for vote in the World Assembly for your feedback. And, last but not least, the Marshall’s Desk where members of the Imperial Army may ask questions and future members may submit their applications.
And, if you have not noticed, there is a “Shoutbox” at the bottom of the forum where members post real time messages and greetings to one another.

Lastly, a few other things to mention:
Culture--As a region we would still like to work on the cultural side of Narnia. If you are reading this, you probably know that Narnia was created by the late CSLewis as a fantasy land, and we are attempting to add some cultural ideas from this series into the forums. If you have any advice or ideas, please let one of the leaders of the High Council know.
Recruitment—This is a shameless plug asking all members to please take part in the new recruitment exercises in NationStates. We have a chance to compete and win a recruitment drive among several regions. If you would like to help, please let one of the High Council members know and we’ll set you up with a telegram and more information.

Thank you for reading this long report! Long live Aslan and long live the Council of Narnia!

End of Term Update- March-May 2010

Greetings fellow Narnians!

It's time for another update on the inner workings of the Council of Narnia. For those of you who haven't been active on the forums, there are several exciting updates taking place.

First, I'm sure you have noticed our Lord Chancellor's updates on the regional page concerning elections. Elections for High Council are just now starting! Nominations will be open through June 5th for the positions of: Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Recruitment Minister, Speaker of the High Council, and Assistant WA Delegate. If you are interested in becoming more active, I urge you to run for one of the positions or to participate in the nominations. You can find more information on the election process at: http://s3.zetaboards.com/Council_of_Narnia/topic/7336509/1/#new

Secondly, if you have any family members or friends who you think might be interested in NationStates, why don't you recruit them to our region? I know many either have little time for recruiting or are unsure how to invite others to join us, but it would be nice to keep our numbers steadily growing! If you have any ideas for recruitment, feel free to share them with one of the leaders or in the forums. We'd be happy to discuss them.

Thirdly, those of you who are interested in getting involved militarily should really look into the Imperial Army. We are not, of course, a raiding and occupying region but we do maintain an Army of protectors and liberators through puppet nations. I'd like to encourage you to explore the options of becoming a member of the army. For more information on the IA's activities, Cocodian or New Spartzerina would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

And lastly, there are some exciting new plans in the works. We have been working on making this region more active and more unique. If you have been to the forums lately, you might have noticed an upswing in activity in the City Square (chat) and Jester's Room (games). There are also discussions concerning the creation of a Narnian culture taking place. We are working on the development of holidays, months, and other Narnian-related ideas. Please feel free to share any ideas you might have! The more input we have, the more rapidly we can grow. It's an exciting time for the Council of Narnia and now is the time to let your voice be heard.

Thanks again for being a member of this great region!

Delfar Appalachia,
Current High Speaker
