Lets Get Some Things Straight

Ok...if you've been paying attention at all the past few days, you know things are a bit messy right now. Lots of confusion and strife and other sorts of things going on. Lets get down to some facts though.

1) I came to lead this nation when the Founder retired. He founded the region and set its foundations and, even now, what he says goes. Period the end. When he retired, he did so because he could not properly lead the region anymore due to real life interference. So he put me in charge. This was not my choice, though I did accept the duty and continue to accept it.

In other words, I am not stepping down unless the Founder tells me to or I feel it is in the best interest of the region. I will not be elected to this position- we are not a full democracy and, as long as the Founder wishes and is respected, we will not be.

2) I created the High Council because I needed help and because I did not want all the power. The High Council is the authoritative branch here. Only the Founder can override us.

3) The Lower Council is now needed since our population is large. The High Council needs extra help running the region, and with this comes giving up some power to the Lower Council. The Lower Council will be elected, if this nonsense ceases and we can get back to work.

4) We have had major security problems with one, or a few, puppet masters flooding and spamming our region. This first occurred on Monday the 15th, and has began again today. A mysterious nation called 'The Narnian Prophet' has been leading at least today's efforts. Yesterday, they gathered a small force (or rather created a bunch of puppets to give the appearance of a force). Today, they attempted to move into the region and, among other things, declare war. We declined this declaration and have begun banjecting waves of puppets that have been coming in. The moderators are at least aware of this spamming.

5) All recruiting is suspended until we get this mess cleaned up...otherwise, it will be impossible to tell if a new nation is legit, or a puppet.

I take responsibility for some of this. I could have and should have acted differently, and sooner. Are we all clear on these things now though? Please, telegram me if you have questions (or better yet, leave a comment here.)

Now, LETS GET NARNIA BACK WHERE IT BELONGS! FOR NARNIA, AND FOR ASLANNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ejection of Corbach

Members of Narnia:

"Honor, Chivalry, Respect, Valor, Loyalty, Activity: These are the foundation of our region.
" That is what we proudly display for all the world to see. And we take these very, very seriously. Having such high standards means we sometimes must make difficult decisions to uphold them.

The nation of Corbach was ejected from the World Assembly for WA rule violations. The High Council knows of at least 3 nations enrolled in the WA that this person controlled. According to Corbach's citizenship application, this person has been playing the game for 4 and a half years. The High Council, therefore can come to no other conclusion than this was a deliberate disrespect for the integrity of the game.

In conclusion, I am left with no choice but to eject Corbach from the region. This person is not a true Narnian and cannot stay here.

If anyone has any further comments or concerns, please feel free to telegram me.

Appointments!

What a month January has been! I do not know how many nations we started the month with, but it was no where near the 93 we are at as I write this! This is an absolutely amazing achievement for us. Our region is now larger than it ever has been! And activity is by far at the highest levels its been at in a very long time, if ever. We must keep this up though...we can't sit by and let our population Cease to Exist away. Nations will die off...so we need to replace them. The original plan was to get 100 nations by March. That is no longer very realistic...the way today has been, we might have 100 when I am done writting this! So, I am upping the goal to 115 nations by the end of February.

Appointment of Ministers
As I said earlier, our region is now at unprecedented levels. With the larger size, it is becoming more of a task to manage. Furthermore, the High Council has more ideas than it can handle. Therefore, we have begun a gradual process of expanding the government by adding a new level: that of Minister. Ministers are not on the High Council, but are granted an opportunity to put their skills to the test while helping out the region at the same time. Someday, if they work hard enough, they may be promoted to the High Council.

For now, these positions will be appointed. As early as next month though, we might start putting these up for election, since we now are starting to get a decent population...though only citizens would be able to vote. So if you are not a citizen, get over to the forums and begin fixing that! Anyways, we are going to start of with just two appointments tonight, but more will be coming soon I feel.

Narnians, harken! The Roar of the Mighty Lion is on the wind, calling His servants to duty! It is with great pleasure, therefore, that I, Lord Chancellor Fotar, on behalf of the entire High Council present you with StephenColbertHD, Minister of Recruitment and Large Red Dot, Assistant Delegate. They now behold the title of Minister, which you are expected to use when addressing them just as you address me as Lord Chancellor, or Cocodian as Vice Chancellor. Minister StephenColbertHD will be heading up our recruitment effort. Minister Large Red Dot will be personally assisting me on my duties as WA Delegate of the region. May they be prosperous in their new positions!

Appointment of Awards
A little surprise for everyone. The January 2010 Lord Chancellor Awards! I am planning on handing out awards to nations in the region on a monthly basis as I see fit. Awards you see this month might not show up next month. And new awards might be given next month that aren't given this month. It all depends on what I see people doing. I would like to have two awards given every month though...and those are the two I will be handing out tonight: The Peter's Crown Award, given to the nation that has done the most for Narnia in the past month, and The Wardrobe Award, given the the nation that joined in the last month and has done the most for the region. Since this is a new idea I have, these will be the only two awards given for January. And now, I would like to proudly bestow these honors upon their recipients.

Vice Chancellor Cocodian, come forth! For your service to Narnia during January, I present you with Peter's Crown. Your tireless efforts in recruiting have brought Narnia into a new age never before seen here. If that were not enough, your wisdom, insight and dedication the High Council and your position as Vice Chancellor have proved invaluable to me and the region. Especially impressive was when I was gone for 10 days and you were in control of the region. During that time, we substantially grew in size and activity. You have gone above and beyond your duty and deserve this award!

Minister StephenColbertHD, come forth! You are new to our region, but your presence here and hard work make it seem as if you have been in Narnia from the start. From the time you first joined, you began to lead by example with your dedication and honor. You joined during the time that I was away and only sporadically checking in. However, even in my inactivity, I could see the special qualities in you that have lifted you to the position of Minister in a few short weeks. Congratulations!

Olympics
The last bit of information I have tonight is regarding the Olympics games. There is a thread in the Nationstates forums, which is included at the end of this post, to sign up for the Fifth ropleplaying of the Winter Olympic games. The deadline to sign up is Friday, February 5th. I have submitted my roster already. This may seem like an odd piece of information, but it is not without reason. I strongly encourage you to sign up because, in a few month's time, I would like to have Narnia host its own version of the Olympic Games! Signing up for the Winter Olympics would be a great way to understand how sports RP works and will give us ideas on how to create and run our own games. I will be asking for volunteers to join an Olympic Committee within the next week or so to help me make this a reality for our region. Here is the link I promised you: http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=32126

That is all I have for now. I do believe a full update from the High Council will be sent out shortly to your telegram boxes. Remember: keep recruiting! For Narnia, and for Aslan!!!

In His Roar,
The Lord Chancellor
